Terminal 3 at 4:30 a.m. — the departure runs the arrival in reverse: ticket check at the door (a T3 ritual), then the mudra hands one more time from the other side.

The Himalaya, maybe — after takeoff the plane heads northwest with the mountains off the right side; on a clear morning the snow line of the high Himalaya floats above the haze. In November the haze usually wins, but it costs nothing to look.

Flying against the clock — 8½ hours in the air, landing in Warsaw at 11:20 the same morning: the 4½ hours surrendered on the way out are handed back.
